Guide to a successful online signing with realtycentrix
✅ What You’ll Need
Before your appointment, make sure you have the following:
A Valid Photo ID
Driver’s license, state ID, or passport
Must not be expired
Must match the name on your documents
Technology Requirements
Device with camera: Laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone
Internet connection: Strong and stable (Wi-Fi or wired)
Microphone and speakers: Usually built-in, but you can test your camera and microphone in advance
Email Access
About 30 minutes prior to your appointment, each signer will receive an email with a secure link for the session. If you do not see your link, please check your spam/junk folder or reach out to us at info@realtycentrix.com or 615.479.4465.
🕒 Before the Appointment
Step 1: Schedule Your Session
Book your session online or confirm your appointment time with your notary.
Step 2: Technology Check
You may receive a link to test your camera, microphone, and ID scan capabilities or click here to test your technology. Complete this step early to avoid delays.
Step 3: Review Your Documents
Your documents will be uploaded in advance or shared during the session. Review them for accuracy.
💻 During the Notarization
Step 1: Identity Verification
You'll be required complete knowledge-based authentication (KBA) – you’ll answer a few personal questions to confirm your identity.
You’ll be prompted to upload a photo of your ID.
Step 2: Live Video Session
Once your ID is verified, you’ll connect with the notary via secure video.
The notary will confirm your identity and walk you through the signing process.
Step 3: Sign Electronically
You’ll sign using your mouse, finger, or typed name.
The notary will apply their electronic seal and signature.
📩 After the Session
Step 1: Receive Completed Documents
You’ll get a PDF copy of the notarized documents by email.
If requested, the notary can also send them to your title company, attorney, or other recipient.
Step 2: Save a Copy
Keep a digital or printed copy of your notarized documents for your records.
💬 Common Questions
Is Remote Notarization legal in my state?
Most U.S. states now allow remote notarization. Your documents will be notarized by an online notary in Tennessee which is authorized and accepted by all 50 states. If you are unsure, please be sure to reach out to your receiving party or recording jurisdiction to make sure that your remote notarized documents will be accepted.
Can I use a phone for the session?
Yes! As long as it has a camera and strong internet connection, your smartphone is fine.
